Recurrent Pregnancy Loss
What is Recurrent Pregnancy Loss?
The term 'repeated pregnancy loss' refers to two or more miscarriages. Three or more miscarriages are sometimes referred to. Although one miscarriage is slightly common, repeated miscarriages should always be investigated. Recurrent miscarriages are said to have a major emotional impact in addition to physical effects. Instead of beginning her new pregnancy with joy, a woman may be anxious.

It is necessary to treat the thyroid and metabolic abnormalities before conception. Blood thinners may be necessary for the expecting woman because of the autoimmune reasons. Progesterone may be necessary early in the pregnancy.
Reassurance will also be provided by the close observation of the patient during the first trimester of the pregnancy. Most importantly, the pregnancy will be carried to term by the woman.
